What's it all about?
Okay, I found the site, what's this all about? Well let's start at the begining. I play a game called 'World of Warcraft' (WoW) which you should be familiar with, if you're not then join up and find out. Anyway, I play a character there that has a trade skill called Alchemy. This is a wonderous and rewarding career in transforming mundane herbs and plants into shiny new potions for your use! There in lies the problem. What do you use? Which potions can I make? How many gold will potion 'X' cost? Should I expect to have to provide ingredients? These are all valid questions, and also a road block to either you asking the proper alchemist for the proper potion or the alchemist knowing which potion to make for you.
Thus the idea of this site came to mind. Basically, it's a database of what potions each registered alchemist makes, what they require you to supply to make it (i.e. ingredients, money, etc), and how to contact them to make the order. What we do not aim to do is provide all the relevant information regarding each potion, there are better sites that do that. Where we can we will attempt to provide links to one of these sites for the potions listed (thottbot).
Where to start?
Great! Now you know what we do, where do you start? Well there are basically two ways to use the database. First scenario is that there is a particular alchemist that you have a working relationship with (supply herbs to, in same guild... we don't want to know) and you can search for that alchemist and see what potions he/she can make for you. The other, broader way is that you know you need potion 'X' and want to find any alchemist that can make it for you, in which case you would search by potion for a list of alchemist that have the ability to make it.
What Servers?
Right now, the site is configured for the Alleria server. It is also currently targeted for the use by my guildmates (Reign of Elysian). Depending on demand we may open up registration to other alchemists and eventually other servers.
